    Sunday March 11

We had a very lovely day of worship and visiting with new and old friends.  We also had Sunday night worship for the Avanti group.  The structure was to sing songs and read the scripture that corresponded with the song of choice before singing.  I challenge you to do so, because you find how passages from new and old testament connect.  Hebrews 5: 9, "and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him."  The song written from this verse is Trust and Obey.  Psalm 35:7-10,
"7 Since they hid their net for me without cause
and without cause dug a pit for me,
8 may ruin overtake them by surprise—
may the net they hid entangle them,
may they fall into the pit, to their ruin.
9 Then my soul will rejoice in the LORD
       and delight in his salvation.

10 My whole being will exclaim,
       “Who is like you, LORD?
You rescue the poor from those too strong for them,
the poor and needy from those who rob them.”

The song written from verse 9 is The Joy of the Lord.  These songs connect.  To be able to have security about the Lord doing what you ask, you must trust that he will do so and obey his commands.  The Lord should give you great joy, because of your trust and obedience to him and the power God possesses.  When a devotional thought is hard to find, just sing and read scripture from where the song was composed.

    In Brotherly Love,

    PB
