In Daniel 1, it is the introduction of Hannaniah (Shadrach), Mishael (Meshach), Azariah (Abednego), and Daniel.  They were extraordinary men with situations God put them in to change an entire Kingdom.  The next couple of chapters explains how Daniel and the three others interact with the King and the other guards.  But in the first chapter, there is a message in the Old Testament that tells us God gives us special abilities.  Daniel 1:17 "God gave these four young men an unusual aptitude for understanding every aspect of literature and wisdom.  And God gave Daniel the special ability to interpret the meanings of visions and dreams."  God GIVES, and God will use people in special situations to show God to others you could not possibly fathom would come to know God.  You just have to ask and yearn to carry out these situations.  Just think if these four men were thrown in jail and refuse to obey God, forgo telling the meaning of King Nebuchadnezzar's dreams, and bow down to idols to fit the mold.  God wipes out everyone and any progress is lost where people could have been saved.  Do not look away from opportunities that present itself.  Run with these opportunities and God will do the rest.

    In Brotherly Love,
